We operate our trial lessons seven days a week throughout the year. The flight can be booked at the time of purchase or the voucher holder can telephone to book a time convenient to themselves. Gift Vouchers are valid for six months from the date of purchase.

 ½ or 1 Hour Trial Lesson - R22
You will be greeted by a training co-ordinator who will personally go through the event with you.
- Watch a pre-flight video
- Discuss with your personal instructor your flight path
- Take to the skies and experience the art of piloting a helicopter
- Receive a certificate on completion
- Time spent on your trial lesson can be logged and used towards the hours needed to learn to fly
½ hour trial lesson R22 (including just under half an hour in the helicopter)
One hour trial lesson R22 (including just under an hour in the helicopter)

Shared Helicopter Experience for up to 2 Adults - R44
As per the ½ or 1 hour trial lesson R22, where one of
you can experience the art of piloting a helicopter, whilst
one adult passenger can come along with you and enjoy the views

an hour in the helicopter)
1 hour trial lesson R44 (including just under an hour in
the helicopter)

Introductory Flying Day - R22/R44
(even more hands on flying experience)
Highly recommended for those serious about gaining their PPL(H).
A warm welcome awaits you at helicentre Blackpool, where you will be introduced to your
personal instructor. The introductory day is based on one to
one tuition and your instructor will be pleased to discuss with
you your individual needs and requirements to get the most out
of your day.
- Watch a pre-flight video
- Introduction to Helicopters - the effects of the controls
before taking your first flight of the day
- Take to the skies and have hands-on flying experience
- Debriefing and lunch
- Take to the skies again for a navigation exercise, where
you can really experience the freedom of helicopter flying
and enjoy spectacular views
- You will also be introduced to low level flight exercises
which include, spot turns, sideways and backwards flying,
quick stops and hovering
- Receive a certificate on completion
- Time spent on your introductory day can be logged and used
towards the hours needed to learn to fly
At the end of your day you will have a good idea of what is
involved in becoming part of a very select class of pilot, the
PPL(H) - Private Pilots Licence (Helicopters).
Your day will include just under 2 ½ hours in the
helicopter plus ground briefings and lunch.

Additional Information Regarding our Trial Lesson Vouchers
Which ever option you choose, that special person will receive a Gift Voucher Pack, which can be purchased over the telephone, by credit or debit card, or by cheque through the post. The same day payment is received, the helicentre Gift Voucher Pack will be sent first class. Gift vouchers are valid for six months from the date of purchase, they are transferable, but non-refundable.
Our well-stocked Helishop sells a variety of helicopter inspired gifts, including t-shirts, model helicopters, mugs and keyrings. All items purchased over the phone can be gift wrapped and posted to you. Make that trial lesson extra special by including a gift with your voucher.
If the recipient is over 6ft 2" tall or 17 stones in weight we regret that they will not be able to fly in the R22 helicopter. You will need to choose the R44 helicopter. For the R44 helicopter you must be under 21 stones in weight. Please let us know at the time of booking. |
